Future Paths

Dad: Can you do something for me? Can you have another 6th birthday and just stay my little girl?

Kate: I'll always be your little girl.

Dad: Even when you're grown-up like dad?

Kate [with a puzzled then matter-of-fact look]: I can't grow up to be a dad. Girls grow up to be moms.
